How do you handle requests once a project is underway?

Written tickets, not a Slack thread as the spec. In-scope work goes into the current sprint. Anything that changes the timeline or the price gets a short written note before we start it. You can always see what is in flight and what is waiting.

Who do we work with day to day?

Accepted Answer

The engineers writing the code, and a PM on scope and timeline. You are not routed through an account layer that then relays to the people doing the work.

Do you work with our existing team?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most clients already have in-house engineers, a brand or design team, or another agency. We join that setup. Shared repos, code review, paired sprints, whatever the project actually needs.

How do you communicate, and what timezone are you in?

Written updates tied to what shipped that week. Slack or email for the day to day, and a call when a decision needs a conversation. We are based in Seattle (Pacific Time) and work with teams in other timezones. We do not hold status meetings for the sake of having them.

What kind of work do you take on?

Shopify development. Migrations, theme work, custom apps, checkout, B2B, POS, headless, ERP and 3PL integrations, performance, accessibility, and retainers. Most of it is Shopify Plus. We also build custom platforms when Shopify is not the right fit.

Do you handle ads, SEO, or CRO?

That is not what we do. We partner with the marketing agencies our clients already have. We can support on SEO reports, retargeting campaigns, static ad design, and email flows and design.

Do you design, or only engineer?

We have a UI/UX designer for interfaces and ecommerce UX. We also implement work from your team or another studio. If you already have a design system, we work inside it.

Do you only work on Shopify Plus?

Accepted Answer

Most of our work is Shopify Plus, but we also build on standard Shopify. Plus is the better fit when you need checkout extensibility, native B2B, Shopify Functions, or higher API limits. We will say so if Plus is required for what you want to do.

How does a project start?

Accepted Answer

Send a scope through the proposal form. An engineer reviews it and we reply within 48 hours. If it is a fit, we write a scoped proposal: what we will build, what we will not, the timeline, and the price. Work starts once that is signed.

How do you test before something ships?

Accepted Answer

Every change is reviewed by another engineer. Theme and storefront work is checked in a Shopify preview or a staging theme. Apps and integrations get a staging store or a separate app install. We do not push unreviewed work to production.

Who owns the code, and where does it live?

Accepted Answer

You do. The work lives in your repo, or in one we set up under your GitHub organization. We do not lock a build behind a proprietary platform or a theme you cannot leave.

What happens when the scope changes?

The proposal is the baseline. If a new request changes the date or the price, we write that down before we start it. We do not silently absorb large changes and then miss the launch.

What happens after launch?

Launch is not a handoff. We stay for fixes, then either close the project or move to a retainer if you want a steady engineering lane. Retainers are a monthly hour block or a defined backlog, not an open-ended promise that we will be around.

How do you price the work?

Fixed price against a written scope for defined projects. Retainers are a monthly hour block. We do not bid work we cannot staff, and we will tell you if the budget and the scope do not match.

How soon can you start?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what is already in progress. Some projects start in a couple of weeks. Larger ones wait for an open slot. The proposal will have a real start date, not a placeholder.
